For 17 years now Thomas’s commitment to painting is total and absolute.
Having just graduated from the Bayard Drawing Academy in Toulouse, and the Toulouse Photography School, he had an experience as a “Copywriter” in Advertising at « Publicis Paris », then he realized a short film « R255 », presented at the “Court devant” festival in Paris in 2009. His artistic debut is in Paris, until he took a small apartment as a studio, always in Bayard Street, in Toulouse.
This return to his roots was a revelation, a real commitment, punctuated by temporary work, and the inspirations inherent to the daily work. (tools, supports, pizza boxes, cleaning squeegee, stones from the south Toulouse quarries, etc °)
Then, the exhibitions follow each other, from cultural centers, to galleries in Toulouse, Paris, London, San Diego, to Contemporary art Museum in Martres-Tolosane in Occitania.
But above all, the painting evolves, from the reproduction of the first French stamp (Ceres 1948), to the work of the motif, through a colorist work, then the Blue color !
He has been working since his beginnings on an undulatory form which he repeats. This one will be enriched when he discovered the work of Oscar Niemeyer and in particular his Brazilian realization, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Niteroi.
This meeting was decisive.
In his case, the material plays the superposition, declines with lightness.
The « LIAB » (Life Is A Breath) Serie was born !
Another serie named « Phosphenia » is inspired by the phosphene, phenomenon of flickering on the surface of the sea that generates the refraction of the sun.
Still another, « Chromatic -Tension » is a mix of his first undulatory pattern, painted on cutting paper to show the tension between colors and shapes.
Thomas has a gesture, constructed and pensive, but lets nature do it sometimes.
His abstract’s work always interprets, presents, but never represents !
In 2019, a major European media networks, presented his work, thanks to a selection of Konbini among others emerging artists from all over France.
Since then, his work has enjoyed real international success.
